Upcoming Events Will Raise Funds to Benefit Local Children With Autism

April is National Autism Awareness Month. The Sheboygan Falls Kiwanis Club is doing their part to raise awareness AND help children in our community with autism.

Pancake Breakfast With The Easter Bunny

On Saturday, April 8th, the Greater Sheboygan and Sheboygan Falls Kiwanis Clubs will host a pancake breakfast at Applebee's located at 526 South Taylor Drive. The breakfast includes a short stack of flap jacks, sausage, and coffee, soda, orange juice, or milk. Members of the clubs will greet, serve, and bus tables, and the Easter Bunny will be on hand to pose for pictures with guests.

Tickets for this event are only $7, and can be purchased in advance by contacting any Kiwanis club member, or purchased at the door on the day of the event!

All funds raised will go to provide iPads to children with autism in Sheboygan County, as part of the Wisconsin Upper Michigan Kiwanis Autism Project.

5K Walk/Run for Autism

On Saturday, April 29th, the Greater Sheboygan and Sheboygan Falls Kiwanis Clubs, and the Sheboygan Falls YMCA will host their annual 5K Walk/Run to benefit local children with autism.

The event will take place at River Park in Sheboygan Falls and will start at 8:30 am with a Youth Fun Run, followed by the main event at 9 am.

“We’re especially excited about some of the guests who will be at the event,” said Sheboygan Falls Kiwanis Club president Lynn Messer. Members of the 501st Legion, a.k.a. Vader’s Fist, a group that dresses in film-quality costumes as Star Wars villains and show up to events to help promote worthwhile causes, have agreed to take part in the event, congratulating racers at the end of the race. “We are grateful that this group is lending their time to help raise visibility of this event. Greater awareness of this event should really help benefit children with autism,” said Messer.

If you would like to sign up for this event and support those in our community with Autism, ou can call 920-946-0652 or 920-467-2464 extension 202, or email
